Introduction
The Waste to Art Competition has been held since 2016 to raise public awareness and understanding of the potential of used and recyclable items as commodities, especially through art.
This competition is in line with the objectives of the National Cleanliness Policy to transform the linear economy into a circular economy with support from all stakeholders.
It also supports the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 12, which aims to reduce solid waste generation by 2030 through recycling, zero waste and effective waste management to ensure sustainable development and environmental well-being.
Objectives
To provide a platform for artists in particular and the public in general to produce works of art based on discarded and used materials, with commercial and aesthetic value and transforming the public mentality to that of a first-class mindset.
