Solid Waste Management Technologies

Organic Waste Treatment Using Composting Machines
The Treatment at Source (TAS) concept is an alternative approach to diverting solid waste from landfills. Use of this concept has begun in order to support the transition to a circular economy. Among the solid waste technologies of TAS is the composting machine, which is increasing in use as a method to reduce the amount of organic solid waste sent to landfills. The composting process also produces end-products such as compost fertiliser that may be used for landscaping and in turn also boost the circular economy.

Organic Waste Treatment Using Anaerobic Digester Machine
In addition to composting machines, Anaerobic Digester (AD) technology is another solid waste management method that adopts the TAS concept and aids the circular economy. In this method, food and vegetable waste is processed to produce end-products like compost liquid fertiliser and biogas.

Reverse Vending Machine
The Reverse Vending Machine (RVM) is a technology-based machine designed for the collection of recyclable waste, utilising Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) to raise public awareness about the importance of recycling. RVM serves as a medium to facilitate recycling among the public, whereby recyclable items such as aluminium cans and plastic bottles (PET) are collected. Through the use of these machines, depositing recyclable items becomes more creative and appealing, especially among the younger generation, thereby promoting recycling practices and increasing circular economy initiatives.
