Recycling management facilities receive and process recyclable waste. Establishing recycling facilities makes it easier for the public to send separated recyclable waste to them, while also encouraging the public to cultivate recycling practices, which will contribute to raising the national recycling rate to 40% by 2025.
SWCorp has provided a database for eight (8) types of recycling management facilities in seven (7) states that have adopted Act 672. These facilities include drop-off recycling bins, Drive-Thru Recycling Centres (DTRC), recycling centres in public housing areas (PPR) through the Zero Waste Community Programme (KOSIS), Community Recycle Centres operated by NGOs, private recycling businesses, recycling centres operated by SWCorp’s concession companies or local authorities, e-Waste collection centres of the Department of Environment, and recycling centres.
