Official Visit By Students Of The Intensive Malay Language Proficiency Course (KIKBM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), To SWCorp

SWCorp welcomed an official visit by students from the Intensive Malay Language Proficiency Course (KIKBM) of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), involving international students from various countries. The visit formed part of efforts to introduce Malaysia’s solid waste management and public cleansing system.

The programme was also attended by YB Datuk Hajah Aiman Athirah binti Sabu, Deputy Minister of Housing and Local Government, and served as a strategic platform for sharing Malaysia’s experience and best practices in solid waste management and environmental sustainability.

During the visit, participants were briefed on the roles and functions of SWCorp as the nation’s lead agency for solid waste management and public cleansing. They were also introduced to the implementation of the Community Service Order (CSO), Malaysia’s integrated solid waste management system, and various initiatives undertaken to strengthen environmental sustainability.

The visit provided participants with a deeper understanding of Malaysia’s approach to advancing sustainable waste management while encouraging the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and best practices among the international participants.

The programme reflects SWCorp’s continued commitment to strengthening collaboration with educational institutions, including those at the international level, to enhance awareness of the importance of effective waste management and environmental conservation.

It is hoped that the visit will further strengthen collaboration between SWCorp and educational institutions while serving as a valuable platform for knowledge sharing in support of the aspiration for a cleaner, greener, and more prosperous Malaysia.
