Objectives
• To promote the transformation of solid waste management from a linear to a circular economy.
• To encourage the involvement of various stakeholders in the recycling industry to boost the sector in order to achieve national recycling rate targets.
• To ensure the systematic planning of recycling waste management facilities for easier user access.
Functions
• To identify, monitor, collect and analyse solid waste management data to determine and recommend the annual national recycling rate.
• To coordinate regulations for recycling waste management facilities.
• To engage with stakeholders in the recycling industry.
• To plan policies related to the transition from a linear economy to a circular economy in solid waste management.
• To plan the development of a recycling waste management facilities database, including its mapping, monitoring and updating.
• To collaborate with strategic partners in the food waste management industry.
• To coordinate initiatives related to the transition from a linear economy to a circular economy in solid waste management.
• To assist the Ministry of Local Government Development (KPKT) in implementing initiatives supporting the circular economy, such as Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR).
• To plan and coordinate strategic collaborations with various stakeholders related to the circular economy.
